Here is one of my all-time favorite desserts, my grandma and my mum used to make when I was little. The smell of the buttery crunchy crisps and cinnamon-flavored apple pieces in my Grandma’s best apple crisp recipe without oats will always remind me of my childhood.

The great thing about homemade apple crisp is that you can make it in no time at all. It is ready to be served in under 30 minutes of baking time.
Enjoy it as a light dessert, or with a serving of whipped cream and/or vanilla ice cream.
My preferred apples to use are Granny Smith because they are not too sweet and have a bit of a slightly sour taste. This is perfect when I marinate the apple pieces with some cinnamon sugar before putting them into the baking dish.

My Secret Ingredient For The Best Apple Crisp Without Oats
What makes my apple crisp recipe so special is my ‘secret’ ingredient that has been handed down from my grandma to me and my family.
In addition to flour, butter, and sugar, I am adding ground almonds to the crisp dough. It makes the crisps so flavorsome, and crunchy with a slightly nutty flavor.
You do have to try it and please let me know how you liked it.
Of course, you don’t need to add the ground almonds but I promise you, it will take this apple crisp recipe to another level.
