Put the flour into a big mixing bowl.
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Stir in the yeast and the salt.
1 tsp salt, 1 tsp dry yeast
Add the can of lemonade plus the melted butter.
1 can lemonade (of your choice) 330ml, 50 grams melted butter
Mix together with a fork or a danish dough whisk until the dough comes together.
Now use your hands to knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic. Add a bit more flour if the dough feels too sticky.
Form the dough into a ball and put it back into the bowl. Dust with flour and cover the bowl with glad wrap and a tea towel.
Place the bowl into a warm place and leave until doubled in size, around 1.5 to 2 hours.
Once the dough is ready, tip it onto a floured workbench. Cut the dough in half and form each half into a ball.
Now divide one of the dough balls into three pieces.
Roll each dough piece into a long round shape. (like a log)
Plait the three 'logs' to make a three-plaited-shaped bread.
Place the bread onto a baking tray and leave it covered for another 30 minutes.
Repeat the steps with the second dough ball.
While you are waiting preheat the oven to 180 Degrees Celcius/350 F. Also, prepare the egg wash by whisking the egg and milk together.
1 egg, 4 tbsp milk
Brush the bread with the egg wash and bake in the hot oven for 30 minutes until it looks golden brown.
Let the bread cool down for a bit before cutting it into thick slices. Serve with butter and jam.
Enjoy! Guten Appetit!
