First off, mix the water, sugar, and yeast in a measuring cup.
1 cup lukewarm water, 1 tsp yeast, 1 tsp sugar
Let it set for a few minutes until you can see foam on the surface.
In the meantime, put the flour into a big bowl.
3 cups all-purpose flour
Add the salt and baking powder and stir it in.
2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt
Now add the yogurt and mix it in as well.
3 tbsp yogurt
Gradually add the yeast/water mixture until well combined.
Use your hands to bring the dough together.
Put the dough onto a floured work bench and knead for around 2 minutes. If the dough is too sticky add a little bit more flour.
Now put the dough back into the bowl, cover, and let it proof for around 1 1/2 hours in a warm place.
Once the dough is ready, tip it onto a floured work bench and form it into a long roll.
Cut the dough into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a small ball.
Cover the dough balls with a clean towel and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
