Grandma's Light And Fluffy Cream Cheese Fritters
You will fall in love with these light and fluffy sweet cream cheese fritters. Perfect for dessert and afternoon tea.
- 200 grams cream cheese (7ounces)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 50 grams melted butter (1.8ounces)
- 1 lemon (zest and juice)
- sunflower oil for deep frying
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting
Making The Batter
Put all the ingredients for the batter (except the flour) into the mixing bowl. Beat with the hand mixer until smooth and silky. Start on low speed and gradually increase the speed.
Lastly, sieve the flour into the batter and fold it in with a spatula. Do not over mix.
Heat up the oil in a large saucepan or a deep fryer if you have.
Once the oil is hot enough, form small balls from the batter by using a teaspoon. Carefully place it into the oil and fry for around 4 to 5 minutes.
Repeat until you used all of the batter. Place the fritters on paper towels to absorb the oil.
Finally dust with powdered sugar. Enjoy with a hot cup of tea or coffee.
